More than a month here..what I can say is sponge will absorb any fluid coming around. Either an orange juice or oil. But we can flush all the fluid anytime we want. Not all of them will flush away, some still remains in the sponge...

Just some information, based on what my manager told me roughly. I’m just a young engineer in this field.

International Marine Contractors Association ( IMCA )

This association provides some code and guidance that we need to follow. Actually all related jobs must follow this rules & guidance from IMCA. There are a few rules & guidance from international organizations related to this field : International Marine Organization (IMO), Association of Diving Contractor (AODC), Det Norsk Veritas (DNV). And the focus more to Air & Sat Spread and Diving Support Vessel (DSV).

Mostly in Petronas, Murphy, and others tender, they will put this IMCA requirement for all equipments and machineries for subsea construction.

Code that focusing on diving in IMCA are :

i) IMCA D014
(IMCA International Code of Practice for Offshore Diving)

ii) IMCA D018

(The Initial and Periodic Examination, Testing and Certification of Diving Plant and Equipment )

iii) IMCA D023

(DESIGN for Surface Oriented (Air) Diving Systems)

iv) IMCA D024

(DESIGN for Saturation (Bell) Diving Systems)

Dialog Group Berhad

Before CNY, I got a call from Dialog HR. She was calling me and asking me to come for job interview. Hmm, just like what my lecturer said, there are other offers when you have started your new job. So, I just told her that I will thinking about it later and give an answer after CNY.After making some research about this company; I found that the company is very stable one. Listed in main board of KLSE in trading&services division. Their main business is a service provider/specialist in oil&gas, petrochemical industry.

Here some info ;

After CNY, I have called back her and told that I need to go for dry-docking in Singapore at least 1 month. So, can they wait for 1 month? After she had some discussions about this problem with her manager, and she said that they will wait for me after the dry-docking.

Alhamdullilah, I was thinking that the company really needs me? Why?

The reasons are :

i ) I have applied the job application through their website about October 2008. They still kept my CV until today.
ii ) They can wait until I finished my job in Singapore just for an interview? Why not they just call for other candidates?

Just my 2 cents. Btw, I’m not confirmed yet that will get the offered job. Just feelin really excited right now. InsyaAllah dapatlah.

Asset Management (Technical)

I have been assigned directly under Asset Manager. So, probably after probation period my title is Asset/ Base Engineer. My job scope are :

i) Familiar with IMCA code IMCAD018, IMCAD023, IMCAD024, DNV-Offshore Service Specification-305 and DNV Offshore Standard-E402. All of the codes related to diving system (air & saturation diving) guides and regulations.
ii) To assist Asset Manager/Operation Team in order to maintain/service/supervise all company assets. Keep and manage all related documents about equipment/machineries maintenance. Must be updated once in 6,12,24,72 months depends on equipment/machineries conditions.
iii) Liaise with procurement department to purchase/repair/transfer machinery/equipment.
iv) Current project is dry-docking our DP DSV Offshore Stephaniturm at Jurong SML Shipyard Ltd, Singapore on February 2009.
v) Make sure all equipment/machineries are in safe and good condition during mob and de-mob on chartered vessel.


My new experiences since join this company were :

i) Just walked around DP DSV Offshore Stephaniturm when she arrived at KSB, Terengganu. I also looking for some certificates for wire rope ( air tugger, diving bell, air basket ) at Inspection Room.
ii) Communicate with vendor in order to arrange for repair broken equip/machineries
iii) Making some minor budgets, copying some related documents for dry-docking Offshore Stephaniturm this February.
iv) Went to Miri, Sarawak. Actually I want to monitor some fabrication works there for 2,3 days but due to thruster problem that affected the DP system of the vessel, I just taking back the things back to KL
v) Meeting with the big boss for dry-docking matters.
vi) Soon, I will monitoring/assisting my manager during dry-docking at Jurong SML Pte Ltd and Loyang Offshore Supply Base.

Nama aku Tam. nama yang tuan aku bagi. aku dilahirkan dalam kotak oleh ibuku. tapi aku tak kenal sape bapak aku. lahir2 da jadi anak yatim. aku ada 3 adik beradik dan aku yg paling lawa sebab adik aku yg dua2 tu kaler suma hitam. aku ader gak tompok2 hitam putih.

kami hidup kat belakang rumah tuan kami. aku pon tak tau apa namenyer sebab mane la aku paham bahasa manusia nih. ape yang aku tau dorang mmg kasi makan kat kami sekeluarga. kami diberi makan Frieskies n Whiskas..tp yg paling aku suka yg ade dlm peti yang sejuk tu...makanan dalam tin..makan tu mmg sedap giler..sure cuci bulunyer lepas makan tu.huhuhu.. aku dan adik2 aku selalu dibawa masuk ke dalam tempat dorang..memula mmg cuak gak..tp bila dah biasa syok giler melompat sane sini dan bermain dgn adik2 aku..

pada suatu hari, aku tengok adik aku sorang hilang..mane la peginyer. aku tgk kat tgh jln dier dah leper. aik apsal?dier da tak bergerak dan bernafas..dan tuan aku pon amik adik aku dan bawak tah pegi ke mana..mak aku kate adik aku da mati kene lenyek ngan kotak gergasi yang bergerak

sejak itu mak aku jarang kelihatan. kadang2 je dier balik..kami mmg seronok main dalam kediaman tuan..sejuk dan selesa..patut la manusia hidup dalam ni..last2 mak aku pon hilang tah ke mana..dah lame hilang

hmm..tinggal la aku ngan adik aku sorang ni..hingga pada suatu hari adik aku tidor lame giler kat luar tuh..aku pon pelik..aku tgk dier da keras..mungkin mati yg mcm mak aku cakap..adik aku suka main jauh2 dari kawasan rumah tuan..mungkin ade manusia lain dah buat dier mati..maka tinggal aku sorang bermain seorang diri. kebanyakan masa aku masuk ke dalam rumah utk bermain..dan makan..tidor

saat paling tak best bila tuan aku kemas barang dan bawak beg besar2.. aku tak tau dorang nak buat apa..lepas tu aku tak boleh masuk ke dalam rumah 2 3 hari..tapi tuan aku tinggalkan makanan banyak2 kat luar rumah..lepas 2 baru tuan aku balik dan terus peluk2 aku dan usap aku..best rase ngantuk je

inilah dikatakan hubungan ant manusia dan kucing..aku pn tak tahu berapa lama lagi aku boleh hidup..yang pasti tidak selama manusia itu hidup..mungkin tuan aku akan sedih jika aku sudah tiada..ya...perasaan yang sama seperti yang aku rasa semasa kematian adik aku dan kehilangan mak..

mungkin ini lah hidup aku yang telah ditentukan oleh Tuhan..aku percaya ada seseorang yang telah menciptakan aku dan Alam ini..tapi aku tidak tahu siapa..aku hanya berharap Tuhan akan membalas balasan yg baik kepada tuan aku..itulah kata hatiku setiap kali sebelum tidur....

Aku naek LRT dari Gombak ke KLCC, aku just overnite kat UIA je kat bilik adik aku, lagipun dier la yang bawak aku..aku mane la tau naek LRT ni..wakakaka

So aku sampai kat 11th floor around 2.00pm and dier kasi borang la cam bese suro isi..then 20 minit later dia panggil...fuh nebes giler doh walaupun ni interview aku yang ke-3

2 org interview, sorang HRM and GM kot...antara soalannya :

1) Tell me about yourself, educational back, n blah2
2) They will discuss a bit about your education
3) What do u know about our company
4) Why do you work wtih us?
5) Why do you think that u r qualifiy to work with us?
6) If you get the offer to work with us u will be base at Wisma Getah
7) Then baru posting ko mane2 ikut ko punyer performance kat Wisma Getah
8) You can ask whatever you want after they all finished asking u
9) 30minutes++ session actually
10) of course company org 'kita'

So, they will give an answer within 2-3 weeks whether im accepted to work with them or not..

-tips dier senang jer, just baca sekali jer soalan and terus jawab, takleh nak recheck balik ke ape ke nak korek idung time tu mmg tak sempat, nak garu pale ke
-mmg kene cepat pick-up


7) Interview

-dier akan tanyer personal background
-tanyer naper nak masuk INSTEP, tahu dari mane?, nape layak masuk INSTEP,

Alhamdulillah,

Finally, I got an interview from Petronas. And I have studied a bit about Petronas, petroleum, and other things related. The IQ Test must be tough. Hopefully, I'll be accepted to enter INSTEP. This is my dreams, dreams that has been inspired since I was in PSP.
